The Indonesian paradise island drowning in plastic

What is missing in Paradise and where does single use plastic go on an island? The video shows us one devastating practice that has been happening for a long time. The absence of local waste management for homes and businesses allows waste to leak into the ocean and calls for urgent intervention which needs to be at range of levels including formal waste collection and safe processing as well as substitution for many short-use plastic products that are at risk of leakage to the oceans. This brings the focus to packaging design for the many products that we all use daily and therein lies the big challenge.
