Thailand bans import of plastic and WEEE waste

Thailand has joined Vietnam in banning imports of plastics and WEEE waste. This might disrupt current business practices however it will actually boost local recycling industries at the source to invest in recovering the value of these materials. This will benefit of the environment as the local environmental controls will require better control on emissions and waste management. More sophisticated processing will also recover higher value from these materials and any non-recyclable materials will be candidates for better design. We must deal with our own waste.
