New rules may force firms to use recycled materials

The use of minimum levels of recycled plastics in new packaging must not stop at drinks containers but should be specified in other food and non-food applications where the use of appropriate grade of plastics can be used. Levels of the order of 33% are generally immediately feasible and would make a huge impact on the investment in the recycling sector creating a big shift in environmental benefits and increase in employment in a local market.
